1. Our Philosophy: Real-World Transparency vs. “Lifetime” Illusions
At BlueHopper, we believe your trust is as permanent as our lighting.
Many brands in the permanent outdoor lighting market aggressively promote a “Lifetime Warranty” on their products. However, their legal fine print reveals a different story: their “lifetime” is mathematically capped at 50,000 hours of diode testing. Under standard daily architectural use (12 to 16 hours), this “lifetime” coverage drops to limited years. Furthermore, many of these brands make their warranties completely non-transferable, meaning your investment vanishes the moment you sell your home.
We refuse to hide behind marketing gimmicks. BlueHopper products are built to commercial-grade standards, and we back them with a clear, honest, and component-specific warranty that reflects the true physical engineering of your system.
2. High-Performance Protection: Component Schedule
Our warranty is structured to provide extensive parts-replacement coverage. Our manufacturer’s warranty is component-specific and covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship from the date of original installation:

3. The BlueHopper Bumper-to-Bumper Covenant (1-Year Labor)
A great BlueHopper system pairs premium hardware from us with expert installation from a Certified BlueHopper Installer. To match the quality of the hardware, the leading Certified Installers in our network competitively offer a 1-Year Labor Guarantee — a “bumper-to-bumper” complement to our hardware warranty that covers on-site service, diagnostics, and component replacement labor at no cost to you during your first 12 months. Because labor is provided directly by your independent installer, simply ask your Certified Installer to include the 1-Year Labor Guarantee in writing on your installation agreement before signing. A few minutes of paperwork gives you complete peace of mind for the full first year. BlueHopper supplies the replacement components covered under the warranty schedule; on-site labor, trip charges, and installation workmanship are covered by your installer’s own labor warranty.
4. Limited Warranty Terms & Legal Disclosures
To request a printed, paper copy of these warranty terms free of charge, please contact BlueHopper Support or mail a request to BlueHopper HQ.
A. Scope of Coverage and Eligible Parties
BlueHopper (“BlueHopper,” “we,” “us,” “our”) warrants to the original consumer purchaser (the property owner) (“Owner,” “you”) that the hardware components of your BlueHopper permanent outdoor lighting system will be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. If a covered product proves defective within this period, BlueHopper’s sole obligation and the purchaser’s exclusive remedy shall be, at BlueHopper’s option, to repair the product, replace it with a new or comparable product, or refund the purchase price paid; any repaired or replaced product is warranted only for the remainder of the original period.
B. Positive Protection: Prorated Parts Credit Plan
To provide maximum long-term value, your system’s core roofline components (including the track base, track lid, light strands, power supplies, and flood/washer lights) are backed by 100% free hardware replacement for the first three (3) years of ownership.
Thereafter, these parts transition to our Prorated Parts Credit Plan. If a qualifying component experiences a manufacturing defect after Year 3, BlueHopper will issue a replacement hardware credit adjusted for the years of active use you have already enjoyed, ensuring you can seamlessly upgrade or replace parts for a fraction of the cost. This replacement credit is calculated based on the ratio of the remaining warranty period to the total warranty duration, applied directly toward your new replacement part.
C. Certified Transfer & Re-Commissioning Program
This limited warranty is extended exclusively to the original purchaser and secures your direct investment.
However, to preserve the long-term value of your property and ensure the next homeowner enjoys the same seamless experience, BlueHopper offers an optional Certified System Transfer & Re-Commissioning Program. For standard administrative fees assessed by BlueHopper and standard technician service rates charged by your contractor, a Certified Installer will conduct a full physical inspection of the system, update all system firmware, reset and transfer the secure digital app credentials directly to the new homeowner, and extend the remaining balance of the hardware warranty.
To take advantage of this protection, the new homeowner must contact BlueHopper and register the transfer within sixty (60) days of closing. If this certified transfer is not completed within sixty (60) days, the system warranty is retired.
D. Exclusions from Warranty Coverage
This warranty does not cover damage to the BlueHopper system due to any cause not expressly covered herein. Exclusions to the warranty coverage include, but are not limited to the following:
- Structural and Environmental Action: Damage caused by acts of God (including hail, lightning, damaging winds, hurricanes, tornadoes, snow, or ice damage), structural property settlement, roof, gutter, or soffit failures, building renovations, roof replacements, or normal cosmetic weathering (such as shading, sun-fading, or biological discoloration from algae, lichen, fungi, or cyanobacteria).
- Improper Handling and Alterations: Damage caused by accidents, negligence, abuse, misuse, mishandling, improper maintenance, vandalism, fire, civil disturbances, power washing, painting, cleaning chemical exposure, altering the system outside its designed architectural purpose, or integrating non-authorized third-party components.
- Electrical and Network Disruption: Damage from external electrical malfunctions, power surges, or electrical current fluctuations, and installations in corrosive environments. This warranty does not cover operational outages due to local power failures, tripped GFI/GFCI outlets, or local internet and Wi-Fi service interruptions.
- Unauthorized Labor & Expenses: Damage caused during installation or repair not completed by a Certified BlueHopper Installer, as well as any diagnostic or repair expenses incurred by the owner without prior written authorization from BlueHopper.
E. Software, App, and Connectivity Disclaimer
This limited warranty covers physical hardware components only. BlueHopper does not warrant, and explicitly disclaims, any and all liability regarding the performance, uptime, or continuous connectivity of the mobile app, cloud networks, local home networks, or wireless signals. Issues arising from internet service interruptions, local Wi-Fi router upgrades, cellular network changes, or Bluetooth/RF interference are not covered under hardware support or product warranty.
F. Actions Voiding the Warranty
This limited warranty shall be immediately null and void if any of the following occur:
- The system is modified, repaired, altered, or maintained by anyone other than a Certified and Trained BlueHopper Installer.
- Any third-party, non-BlueHopper components, controllers, or power supplies are integrated or substituted into the system without prior written authorization from BlueHopper.
G. Warranty Activation
To activate this warranty, the original owner must register their system within thirty (30) days of installation. Registration can be completed online at https://www.bluehopper.com/products-warranty/, through the registration portal in the official mobile app, or by reaching out directly to Support@BlueHopper.com, whichever method is available at that time. Warranty registration is recommended and may expedite service. Proof of purchase may substitute for registration.
H. Claims
To make a claim under this warranty, the covered owner needs to do so within 30 days of discovering the problem. Claims can be initiated through your Certified BlueHopper Installer. We may ask you to provide pictures of the system performance failure, and/or we may ask that you or your Certified BlueHopper Installer return the failed or damaged components to BlueHopper. We may require that you furnish proof of purchase details, respond to questions designed to assist with diagnosing potential issues, and follow BlueHopper’s procedures for obtaining warranty service.
I. Limitations
Limited Warranty & Limitation of LiabilityÂ
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IS THE SOLE REMEDY. IT REPLACES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS, AND GUARANTEES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED — INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE — WHETHER ARISING BY STATUTE, AT LAW, OR IN EQUITY, AND IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BlueHopper shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential, indirect, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of use, revenue, profits (including on contracts), anticipated savings, business, opportunity, goodwill, or reputation; loss of or damage to data; the cost of replacement equipment; or the cost of recovering, reprogramming, or reproducing any data — regardless of the legal or equitable theory (contract, tort, or otherwise), whether or not such damages were foreseeable or disclosed in advance, and notwithstanding the failure of any remedy of its essential purpose.
Whether a component is defective or has failed shall be determined by BlueHopper acting reasonably and in good faith, with consideration given to the overall performance of the system.
EXCEPT FOR LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW (INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY BLUEHOPPER’S NEGLIGENCE), AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BlueHopper’s total aggregate liability for any defective component or system, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, shall not exceed the lesser of the amount paid to BlueHopper for the specific product unit or system to which the claim relates or US $50,000. BlueHopper shall have no warranty or other liability for products it did not manufacture and sell.
This warranty may not be changed or modified. No person — including any employee or representative of BlueHopper or of any contractor or installer — has authority to assume additional liability or to modify this warranty.
Governing LawÂ
The terms and conditions of this limited hardware warranty are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Texas, excluding any conflict-of-laws provisions. Any legal disputes or claims stemming from this warranty must be filed and settled exclusively within the state courts located in Dallas County or the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (Dallas Division). By accepting these terms, you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of these specific courts. Furthermore, BlueHopper reserves the absolute right to initiate legal proceedings in any jurisdiction where the owner resides or where the lighting system is physically installed.
